October 9th Rio Rancho High School will be the site of the 2010 Southwest Grappling Championship. Hosted by the Combat Sports Club and the Southwest Grappling League this will be the third annual championship and the last event of the 2010 season. The tournament is double elimination, placing 1st-4th, with Gi and NoGi divisions for men, women and kids of all ages and skill levels. 
Dave May's Powerhouse Combat Sports presents Firestorm, an MMA show scheduled for September 18th at the Grant County Conference Center. The following article, written by Danny Udero was published recently in the Silver City Sun News including the complete fight card. 
This Friday the public is invited to the weigh-ins for the Jackson's MMA Series II at 2pm at the Hardrock Casino. The show itself will take place the following night, Saturday September 4th, with Coty "Ox" Wheeler headling a stellar card of professional and amateur fighters from Jackson's Gym.
The action was intense Saturday in Los Lunas as four amateur belts were contested in front of a raucous hometown crowd. Check out the action in this event highlight photo gallery.
A press conference was held today to announce the the November 13 bout between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito. The two will fight for the vacant WBC Light middleweight crown. Pacquiao gives up 5 inches in height and will be fighting up in weight, but many pundits feel that Margarito is not a worthy opponent. Saturday in Los Lunas fight fans were treated to an exciting night of amateur fights courtesy of Freddy J. Sandoval's Que Loco Cage Fighting. The show titled Breakout had four title fights which followed five undercard MMA bouts and one grappling match, with MC Ian Troy at the Helm. The full results are as follows, winners first:

Ian spent an entire day observing and filming Ox has he prepares for his headline showdown against Ray Robinson September 4th on the Jackson's MMA Series II. Ox let's us in on his daily nutrition, fight training and other aspects of a fighters life as they get ready to do battle.
