Gerald Meerschaert has ‘no complaints’ about new contract ahead of UFC on ESPN+ 19

TAMPA, Fla. – After Gerald Meerschaert finished his UFC contract in August with a win over Trevin Giles, he said he wanted two things: To stay with the promotion and to get another fight soon.

Both of those wishes were granted: Meerschaert (29-11 MMA, 5-3 UFC) got a new deal and a quick turnaround on Saturday for UFC on ESPN+ 19, where he meets Eryk Anders (12-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC) in a middleweight bout.

Sometimes the free-agency process can be stressful, but Meerschaert said he was satisfied with the way in which everything unfolded.

“I like the deal for where I’m at and I’m still working for the UFC, which is where I want to be,” Meerschaert told reporters, including MMA Junkie, at UFC on ESPN+ 19 media day. “So I’ve got no complaints.”

UFC on ESPN+ 19 takes place at Amalie Arena. The entire card streams on ESPN+.
