UFC 243 ‘Thrill and Agony’: Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa don’t like each other

Once again, the UFC takes us behind the scenes of its latest pay-per-view: this time at UFC 243 in Melbourne, Australia.

UFC 243 took place last Saturday at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.

In the UFC 243 “Thrill and Agony” preview, we get a behind-the-scenes look at the immediate aftermath of the main event between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker, as well as the co-main event between Daniel Hooker and Al Iaquinta.

In the main event, Adesanya (18-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) proved the doubters wrong with his stoppage of Whittaker (20-5 MMA, 11-3 UFC). The Nigerian ended the fight with a barrage of punches in the second round, which left the then-champion bleeding on the canvas.

In the co-main event, Hooker (19-8 MMA, 9-4 UFC) picked up one of his most impressive victories to date when he defeated Iaquinta (14-6-1 MMA, 9-5 UFC) by unanimous decision.

Check out the full clip above to see the outpouring of emotions on all sides following the night’s featured action, including an audience full of shocked fans and fighters when Adesanya finished Whittaker in the second round to claim the gold.
