Bellator 232 post-event facts: Saad Awad’s loss comes with dubious footnote

The second half of Bellator’s weekend doubleheader took place Saturday with Bellator 232, which went down at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., with a main card that streamed on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie.

Douglas Lima (32-7 MMA, 14-3 BMMA) achieved the greatest moment of his career in the main event. Not only did he avenge a key loss on his resume to Rory MacDonald (21-6-1 MMA, 3-2-1 BMMA) by unanimous decision, but he also reclaimed Bellator welterweight gold, won the 170-pound grand prix and got a $1 million prize.

It was a historic night for Lima, but he wasn’t the only one to accomplish something meaningful. For more on the numbers, check below for 15 post-event facts to come out of Bellator 232.
