Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was able to get United States President Donald Trump to attend the UFC 244 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which took place last Sat. night (Nov. 24, 2019) inside historic Madison Square Garden in New York City.

It was a big thrill for heavyweight power-puncher Derrick Lewis, who turned away Blagoy Ivanov after three-rounds of back-and-forth action. That said, “Black Beast” was a little bummed that President Obama never attended a UFC event while in office.

“It was pretty cool,” Lewis said after the fight. “I wish Obama would have done that, but it is what it is. I think it was pretty cool though. I think it is time to have a 100-percent black man in office so I might run for governor first. Maybe 2024, maybe I’ll run then, I’ll be eligible for the age limit. We’ll see.”

With his “Baga” win in the books, Lewis will hold onto his place in the heavyweight Top 5. Which means his next fight is likely to be against a fellow top contender like Curtis Blaydes, who just so happened to call out “Black Beast” on Twitter.

“That would be a good fight, Curtis Blaydes,” Lewis said. “If he takes me down, I’m gonna rest, get all the rest I can, then I’m gonna get up and knock his ass out. Well, I’m gonna try to knock him out, I don’t think he’s tough enough like that dude I just fought.”

That’s up to UFC matchmakers, but the fight makes sense on paper.
