Conor McGregor is back.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White just told ESPN that Conor McGregor will fight Donald Cerrone in the UFC 246 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, set to go down on Sat., Jan. 18, 2020 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

McGregor (21-4) hasn’t competed since October 2018, losing to 155-pound champion, Khabib Nurnagomedov, at UFC 229 via rear-naked choke. “Notorious” was then subsequently suspended for his involvement in the post-fight brawl with the “Eagle” camp.

But after more than a year away from action, the power-punching Irishman will look to collect his first win in mixed martial arts (MMA) in over three years.

It won’t come easy, as “Cowboy” (36-13, 1 NC) is as experienced and tough as they come. That said, Cerrone is 0-2 in his last two outings, losing to Tony Ferguson via doctor’s stoppage at UFC 238. He was then knocked out by Justin Gaethje in the very first round last September.
