Tyson Fury is a bad man. And so is his father John, who didn’t take UFC president Dana White’s recent comments doubting his son’s ability to hang in the UFC.

Tyson has been talking about a potential mixed martial arts run for the past couple of weeks, and went so far as to spend a couple hours training the basics of sprawl and brawl with Darren Till recently.

White has been pretty complimentary of Fury in the past, calling him the best heavyweight boxer in the world earlier this year. But when it comes to competing in the UFC?

”Why come over here and get smashed when you can stay there?” White asked when talking to TMZ Sports. “Tyson Fury, your time is now. You’re the man in boxing. You’re one of the top four guys in the world in boxing. Why even think about coming over here?’

Pretty soft criticism from White, who is known for dropping harsh truth bombs on most non-professionals thinking they can just cross over like it’s NBD. But it still pissed off John Fury.

”You can’t write a man off with Tyson’s ability and heart and will to win and [White] knows that, he’s talking stupid,” John Fury said in an IFL TV video. “Let him talk to me like that, I’ll fight him, match me up with him tonight. He won’t be saying that again would he?”

John recently made headlines demanding Tyson fire his coaching staff after a near loss by cut in a filler fight with Otto Wallin in September. So he’s no stranger to brash talk. This is pretty meaty even by those standards.

”I believe I’m the best 54-year-old man in the world,” John continued. “I’m the fittest, I know that. I’m the best 54-year-old man on the planet and I’m going to prove it anytime, anyplace, anywhere, for free or for money, so let him take that in his pipe and smoke it. And I mean that mate. Keep my son’s name out of your mouth. If it’s not good don’t talk about him.”

Wow, that’s two fathers of boxing legends in a couple of weeks threatening to kick Dana White’s ass.

It’s too bad Dana White’s bad blood exhibition boxing days are over after he broke his body down training for a Tito Ortiz boxing match that never even happened. The MMA promoter now suffers from Meniere’s disease, an inner-ear disorder that can cause horrible vertigo and tinnitus. All the cutting edge medical treatment millions of dollars can buy keeps White going through the UFC’s grueling schedule, but we don’t think he’s going to box John Fury over some comments that weren’t even an insult in any sense of the word.
