UFC on ESPN 7 weigh-in results: Overeem-Rozenstruik official, but Calvillo misses by 4.5 pounds

WASHINGTON – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s early and official UFC on ESPN 7 fighter weigh-ins, where two fighters missed their marks for Saturdays’ card.

Among those who weighed in were Alistair Overeem (45-17 MMA, 10-6 UFC) and Jairzinho Rozenstruik (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC), who meet in the heavyweight main event. They’ll be close in weight. Rozenstruik was 250.5 pounds. Overeem came in at 248 to make their headliner official.

Co-headliner Cynthia Calvillo (8-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) missed the strawweight limit by 4.5 pounds. Marina Rodriguez (12-0-1 MMA, 2-0-1 UFC) accepted the bout at a catchweight, and Calvillo will be fined 30 percent of her purse. The weight miss was Calvillo’s second in her past three fights. Rodriguez weighed in at 115.5 and was the first fighter to step on the scale during the two-hour window.

Additionally, featherweight Matt Sayles (8-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) missed weight by 2.5 pounds for his preliminary card bout against Bryce Mitchell (11-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC). Sayles was fined 20 percent of his purse.

The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Washington, D.C. Unlike most UFC events, there were no ceremonial weigh-ins Friday for the fans ahead of Saturday’s card, which takes place at Capital One Arena in Washington. The main card airs on ESPN following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
