Longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, has been teasing a potential heavyweight super fight against reigning 265-pound kingpin, Stipe Miocic, for well over three years now.

Not to be a dick, but either move up and do it or quit yappin’ about it.

His upcoming fight against top contender Dominick Reyes, scheduled for the UFC 247 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on Feb. 8 in Houston, Texas, may be the last time Jones competes at 205 pounds, assuming “Bones” emerges victorious.

“I was trying to get a Stipe Miocic fight,” Jones recently told reporters (via MMA Fighting). “I thought that maybe it would happen but instead we have Stipe-DC 3. But at that moment I was so ready to go to heavyweight and stick my hands in with some of those big fellas. My versatility, I realize, is not things most heavyweights would do, spinning things, flying knees, things like that. I feel really good.”

The heavyweight title remains on ice until Miocic can complete his trilogy with heavyweight rival, Daniel Cormier, himself no stranger to Jones. The result of that fight could go a long way in determining when (or if) “Bones” actually makes the trip north.

“The time is going to be really close,” Jones continued. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened in 2020. I feel as if I’ve cleared the division and I’m waiting around and I’m taking on new challenges. I’m not sitting on the title. I’m not hiding from anybody. I chose Dominick because he appears to be the best out of all of my contenders and I’m just ready to just take over the world.”

A world that just so happens to include this bitter rival.
