Santa ‘Bones’ Gifts Coats To Albuquerque’s Homeless

As the Christmas holiday approaches, most are looking under the tree trying to figure out if the gift with their name on it is exactly what they asked for without trying to break the wrapping paper. But as people prepare gather in front of the fireplace to open gifts galore in a few days, it’s easy to forget that some aren’t so fortunate, and finding a way to keep warm on a cold winter’s night is one of the best gifts imaginable.

Enter Jon Jones.

The current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion of the world recently took the time to give back to his people in Albuquerque, New Mexico by purchasing over 600 winter coats from Burlington Coat Factory to give away to the homeless.

“We have a lot of homeless, we have a lot of mentally ill in this community, and a lot of these guys are just misunderstood,” Jones told Albuquerque news outlet KRQE via MMA Junkie. “They need help, and keeping them warm is just going to be a great start for a better future,” Jones said.

Jon’s kindness was met with praise by several of celebs and his colleagues including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Cris Cyborg and former UC Welterweight champion, Matt Hughes.

This isn’t the first time “Bones” has gone out of the way to put a smile on people’s faces during the holidays. If you recall, Jon made a similar gesture last year by clearing out an entire toy aisle in order to give out as many toys as possible to children in need.

Jones will return to action on February 18, 2020 when he attempts to defend his 205-pound title against current No. contender, Dominick Reyes, in the main event of UFC 247 in Houston, Texas.
