Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, was able to punch her way back into a 115-pound title fight after scoring a pair of wins over top contenders Tecia Torres and Michelle Waterson.

During her time away from the throne, Rose Namajunas dropped the strawweight strap to Jessica Andrade, who was summarily creamed by 115-pound bruiser, Weili Zhang. “Magnum” will make her first championship title defense against Jedrzejczyk at UFC 248 in March.

“She’s a strong animal,” Jedrzejczyk told UFC Unfiltered (via Farah Hannoun). “She’s so big. She’s huge, and she throws very hard punches, but I’m more experienced, I think, through these championship bouts so many times, so I’m a real fighter. My conditioning is always on point, and I will have to be very clever, very sneaky, as well, and I think this fight with Zhang will be similar to the fight with Jessica Andrade.”

Jedrzejczyk defeated Andrade by way of five-round decision at UFC 211 back in May 2017.

It’s unclear if Zhang vs. Jedrzejczyk will headline the upcoming UFC 248 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Sat., March 7, 2020, in Las Vegas, Nevada, but they will serve as the co-main event at the very least.

No doubt this former champion will be watching.
