The promotional push ahead of the clash between Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 continues as we hurtle at breakneck pace toward another (chaotic) fight week in Las Vegas. And ESPN’s latest promo features something (or someone) its first promo didn’t: ‘Cowboy’ himself.

While ESPN’s first big TV spot to promote the event went all-in on McGregor’s pay-per-view debut on ESPN+, its next effort is an altogether more balanced promo as it attempts to sell the main event as a whole by extolling the fighting virtues of the “infamous,” “relentless” McGregor, and the “legend,” “all-American” Cerrone ahead of their eagerly-anticipated clash on Jan. 18.

Of course, with McGregor being the bigger draw of the two, it should be no surprise that the Dubliner is getting the lion’s share of the column inches and promotion ahead of the fight. But old-school fight fans know what’s up, and when it comes to a man who always steps up and always puts on a show, they “know a guy.”

Cerrone will make his record-breaking 34th walk of his UFC career when he takes on McGregor at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. And, while his experience will doubtless be part of the pre-fight narrative as fans and media break down the matchup itself, there’s another little tidbit worth keeping in mind as the WEC and UFC legend prepares to face McGregor in the “fight capital of the world” – Cerrone’s record in “Sin City” is formidable.

Cerrone is 9-1 in Vegas, with six of those nine wins earning him post-fight bonuses. He’s riding an eight-year, six-fight winning streak in the city, with his most recent two appearances producing a pair of head-kick KOs as he handed John Makdessi and Rick Story the first knockout losses of their careers in highlight-reel fashion.

Could he make it a hat-trick and do the same to McGregor on Jan. 18?
