A hard-hitting Welterweight showdown is in line to go down at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 172 event, as Niko Price and Muslim Salikhov are working on a deal that will see them throw hands on April 11 at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

That’s according to ESPN’s Brett Okamato, who says the fight is nearly finalized.

Price is coming off a first round knockout victory over James Vick, knocking out “The Texecutioner” via upkick at UFC Fight Night 161 last October (see it). Over his last five outings, Price has alternated wins and losses, and hasn’t won back-to-back fights since 2018.

Salikhov, meanwhile, has won three straight, owns a 3-1 record inside the Octagon and has won 13 of his last 15 bouts. In fact, 12 of those wins have come via stoppage, so the man knows a thing or three about ending fights in impressive fashion.

And that is right up Niko’s alley, as he has 13 stoppages with only one decision victory on his resume. So if you’re a betting person, it’s a safe to lay some money down on this fight not going the distance.

The ESPN+-streamed event is expected to be headlined by a Heavyweight showdown between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris. It will be Harris’ first fight since the death of his stepdaughter, Aniah Blanchard, who was murdered last November.
