Manny Pacquiao inks deal with Conor McGregor’s management team

Manny Pacquiao wanted to fight Conor McGregor, but now they’ll share the same management team.

The eight-time boxing champion has signed with Paradigm Sports Management, a prominent team that represents the former two-division UFC champion, as well as reigning UFC middleweight king Israel Adesanya and Bellator featherweight champion Cris Cyborg.

Paradigm, headed up by CEO Audie Attar, will be working with Pacquiao for both “commercial and competitive endeavors.”

“I am proud to partner with Paradigm Sports Management and am excited for the opportunities that Audie Attar and PSM have to offer,” Pacquiao said in a statement.

“One thing I want everyone to remember is to always think positively. Never think negatively; that is the beginning of your downfall. Everything is possible.”

Pacquiao has enjoyed a career resurgence in recent years as the 41-year-old fighter has earned three victories in a row including impressive wins over Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman in his past two fights.

Most recently, Pacquiao has signed with Premier Boxing Champions under advisor Al Haymon where he still has multiple fights remaining.

Prior to signing with his new management team, Pacquiao had been teasing a possible crossover fight with McGregor after he previously faced Floyd Mayweather in a huge boxing match that netted both fighters nine-figure paydays.

Following McGregor’s recent win over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Paquiao even posted a mock fight poster featuring himself standing alongside the Irishman. Now Pacquiao will share the same manager as McGregor, who sent him a welcome message after his deal was announced on Tuesday.
