Paradigm Sports Management — the firm that represents Conor McGregor, among other high-profile athletes — just bolstered its roster by signing current WBA Super Welterweight champion, Manny Pacquiao.

Manny has been on a tear as of late, winning three straight against top contenders Lucas Matthysse, Adrien Broner and most recently defeating Keith Thurman to win his latest world championship.

So why is the signing significant?

Conor revealed a few weeks back that a fight against Pacquiao was on the table, stating that he was interested in returning to the boxing arena for his second professional fight. Of course, that was before “Pac Man” signed with Audie Attar and Co. But now that both men are managed by the same team, making a mega boxing event between the two should be a lot easier.

That said, Pacquiao will still have his current business team as part of the deal to work alongside Paradigm.

As for Conor, he made his triumphant return to mixed martial arts (MMA) last month knocking out Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds in the main event of UFC 246 in Las Vegas, Nevada (see it again here).

He is currently in line to face the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, which is set to go down at UFC 249 on April 19, 2020. If that goes up in smoke, well, McGregor just had another option added to his laundry list of potential challengers.
