Bellator 239 weigh-in results: Ruth, Amosov on point, but two come in heavy in Oklahoma

THACKERVILLE, Okla. – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Thursday’s early and official Bellator 239 fighter weigh-ins, where all the fighters on the main card hit their marks.

In the main event, Ed Ruth (8-1 MMA, 8-1 BMMA) takes on Yaroslav Amosov (22-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) in a welterweight showdown. The unbeaten Amosov, fighting in his first Bellator headliner, came in at 170.1 pounds. Ruth, looking for his third straight win after the first loss of his career, was 170.9.

In the lightweight co-feature, Brandon Girtz (16-8 MMA, 8-6 BMMA) takes on longtime UFC fghter Myles Jury (18-5 MMA, 0-1 BMMA), who is looking for his first Bellator win after making his promotional debut in 2019. Girtz was 155.1. Jury came in at 155.5.

Two fighters on the preliminary card missed weight. Scott Futrell (11-9 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) is set for a 175-pound contract weight fight against former Oklahoma State University wrestling standout Kyle Crutchmer (5-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA). But Futrell came in at 177.9 pounds. He’ll be fined 20 percent of his purse. Crutchmer was 174.9. In Crutchmer’s first Bellator fight this past November, his opponent also missed weight.

And Jamese Taylor (0-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) came in at 148.2 pounds for his featherweight fight against Lucas Brennan (2-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA), who was 145.5. Taylor will be fined 20 percent of his purse, as well.

The early weigh-ins took place at WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Okla., and preceded the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 1 p.m. ET at MIST inside WinStar World Casino & Resort.

Bellator 239 takes place Friday at WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville. The main card airs on Paramount and streams on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie.
