Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title contender, Stephen Thompson, turned 37 back in February and doesn’t have much time left in his athletic prime, which is why “Wonderboy” is looking to get back into action against some of the biggest names in the 170-pound division.

Like fellow top-ranked contender, Colby Covington.

“Colby Covington, for sure. I want to know what he has to say,” Thompson told TheScore (transcribed by Adam Martin). “He’s definitely not good at (trash talking), I’ll probably end up laughing at it. When you fight Colby Covington, you know what he’s going to do. He’s not going to fight me the same way he fights Usman. He’s going to shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot. It may be a boring fight, but it may be a good fight, I think.”

Thompson (15-4-1) may need to take a number.

“Wonderboy” was last seen in his “Fight of the Night” victory over Vicente Luque at UFC 244 back in November. Prior to that, the former kickboxing phenom was stunned by Anthony Pettis in a surprising knockout loss at UFC Nashville.

Thompson vs. Covington … who wants it?
