Secret Location Expected To Host Multiple Events

Once Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) locks down a location for its upcoming UFC 249 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is expected to happen on the “west coast” of the United States on April 18, 2020, the promotion is likely to stay there until the coronavirus pandemic subsides.

That’s according to a report from ESPN (sorry, Florida).

“UFC will hold multiple events over the coming weeks in this same new location,” Ariel Helwani wrote. “Following April 18, they have shows scheduled for April 25 and May 2 and UFC 250 on May 9. The organization already has begun working on filling up these cards with some of the same fights originally scheduled and new fights altogether, sources say.”

Details are expected to drop today, according to UFC President Dana White.

Wherever the fight card takes place, it’s unlikely to include current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (details). “The Eagle” is stranded in Russia under quarantine and UFC is considering Justin Gaethje as a placement for Tony Ferguson.

We’ll (hopefully) know more later today.
