Zuluzinho Eats Jailhouse ‘Dumpling’ In Russia

I’m really enjoying the evolution of this bizarre slap-fighting league in Russia, which has exploded in popularity and can now afford to produce online videos that do an admirable job of elevating dreck into art.

In case you missed some of the earlier entries (catch up here), the goal is to slap the shit out of your opponent with such force that he’s unable to continue. The face of the promotion, so to speak, is “The Dumpling” (Vasiliy Kamotskiy).

His opponent? None other than Wagner da Conceicao Martins.

Recognized as “Zuluzinho” by the mixed martial arts (MMA) world, the 41 year-old Brazilian is perhaps best known for getting squashed by former PRIDE Fighting Championship heavyweight kingpin, Fedor Emelianenko, at “Shockwave” back in 2005.

Martins (12-9, 1 NC) last competed at Megdan Fighting 6 in Belgrad, Serbia, back in December, capturing a technical knockout win over Aleksandar Aleksic. “Zuluzinho” was undefeated in 2019 at 3-0 and is expected to return to the cage later this year.

For those of you wondering about the Russian quarantine, the slappy “Stone Faces” event was actually held last month before the lockdown but was not scheduled to air until today.
