Bellator: “Newcastle” — also known as Bellator EuroSeries 1 — took place Feb. 19, 2019, at Utilita Arena (formerly known as Metro Radio Arena) in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It was the first event of a newly launched European Series of shows for Bellator MMA, which would air live on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom.

In a much closer than expected main event, local product Ryan Scope (10-1) took it hard to long-time Bellator veteran Patricky Freire (20-8) in a three-round war that “Pitbull” barely edged out via split decision. That culminated a card that saw two submissions from Corey Browning and Chris Bungard, while Fabian Edwards swept Lee Chadwick for three rounds to open the broadcast.
