Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor is as confident as they come, but even “Notorious” has room for improvement.

This is according to McGregor himself, who is unable to watch footage of his own training sessions in the lead-up to his 2017 clash with undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. McGregor did cash out in that superfight with a monstrous $100 million payday, but ended up suffering a 10th-round TKO loss at the hands of “Money.”

Prior to McGregor’s return at UFC 246 this past January, in which he clobbered Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in just 40 seconds, “Notorious” talked about his training routine for the Mayweather fight during a stopover at UFC’s Performance Institute in Las Vegas.

”I actually look at the Mayweather [fight], the shots on the bag and the way I was punching and I actually can’t even watch that,” explained McGregor.

“I shiver when I see the way I was throwing my punches back then. I just wasn’t sitting right on them, just floating through the air.

“Now I’m getting into positions and sitting in. Got to go through everything to learn, to truly learn. Experience is the best teacher of all.”

Fortunately for McGregor, he may end up securing another opportunity to prove his worth inside of the boxing ring against the great Mayweather. “Notorious” already believes he would “whoop” Mayweather in a rematch and has revealed his goal to return to the boxing ring in short time. Mayweather also teased a potential reboot with McGregor after the UFC fighter smoked “Cowboy” back in January.

For now, McGregor will keep his focus on his UFC resurgence and try to reclaim the lightweight title he once possessed. If that goal is reached then fight fans may end up getting Mayweather vs. McGregor 2, and “Notorious” can put his revamped training to the ultimate test.
