UFC on ESPN+ 32 weigh-in results: Three fighters miss, but featured bouts set

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s early and official UFC on ESPN+ 32 fighter weigh-ins, where three fighters failed to make weight for their scheduled matchups.

The early weigh-ins took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which streams on ESPN+.

Fortunately, those missed did not include headliners Derrick Lewis (23-7 MMA, 14-5 UFC) or Aleksei Oleinik (59-13-1 MMA, 8-4 UFC), who meet in the heavyweight main event. Former middleweight champion Chris Weidman (14-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) takes on Omari Akhmedov (20-4-1 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) in the co-feature, and those two both were good, as well.

Veteran lightweight Beneil Dariush (18-4-1 MMA, 12-4-1 UFC) was among those who was heavy, registering 158 pounds for his lightweight clash with Scott Holtzman (156).

Tim Means (29-12-1 MMA, 11-9 UFC) and Laureano Staropoli (9-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC), who meet in a welterweight clash, each missed weight for their preliminary bout. Means came in at 172.5, while Staropoli was 174.5.

Fine amounts are still currently being negotiated.
