Despite split-decision, Daniel Madrid says ‘a blind person’ could see that he won at Bellator 246

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Daniel Madrid was in no doubt that he had done enough to win his fight at Bellator 246, even though the judges were split on the verdict.

Madrid (18-6 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) earned a split-decision victory over Pat Casey (6-3 MMA, 2-2 BMMA) in their middleweight preliminary card bout at Mohegan Sun Arena, but the debuting “Demigod” said he knew he’d done more than enough when he was waiting for the verdict.

“I wasn’t nervous. I was a little confused, because one gave it 29-28, then the other gave it 30-27 on the second one and it kinda threw me,” he told reporters, including MMA Junkie, after his victory. “I knew I’d done enough. A blind person could have sad I won that fight.”
