Nope! White Ends Perry’s Corner Sweepstakes

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight headline machine, Mike Perry, was looking to make some extra coin by raffling off a spot in his corner for the upcoming UFC 255 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Nov. 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After all, those car repairs don’t come cheap.

But promotion president Dana White told reporters at the UFC Fight Island 6 media scrum that “Platinum” will have to find a new way to pay off his taxes, because a round robin of cornermen (or cornerwomen) is not going to be the new normal for UFC.

“You can’t do that,” an incredulous White said … rather succinctly I might add.

That means we can forget about seeing Darren Till in the corner of Perry when “Platinum” fights Robbie Lawler, which is a shame when you consider how fans may have ended up with two fights inside the cage instead of one.

I guess that’s why corners are licensed by commissions and not by fan vote.
