The UFC Vegas 12 weigh ins went down earlier today to make things official for the “Hall vs. Silva” MMA event tomorrow night (Oct. 31) in Las Vegas, but things went off the rails in a couple of different weight classes resulting in one bout scratched and two fighters heavy.

The flyweight contest between Priscila Cachoeira and Cortney Casey has been canceled after what’s being called “weight-management issues” from the UFC website. “Pedrita” was stricken with both COVID-19 and Dengue fever during her UFC Vegas 12 training camp.

“Cachoeira was having a tough weight cut and had already agreed to moving the fight to 135, but slipped and fell while cutting weight, hitting the back of her head on the bathtub,” veteran journalist Guilherme Cruz wrote on Twitter. “Cachoeira is fine but still under observation at a local hospital in Las Vegas.”

Sorry, but “slipped in the bathtub” is quickly becoming the weight-cutting version of “the dog ate my homework.”

In addition, UFC sophomore Cole Williams crushed the scale for his upcoming showdown opposite Jason Witt, coming in at 175.5 for their welterweight affair. Williams, who turns 37 in December, also botched his first weigh in back at UFC on ESPN 5, coming in at 176.

A trip to middleweight might be in order.

Also failing to make weight for UFC Vegas 12 was middleweight veteran Jack Marshman, another combatant with a history of missing weight, after tipping the scale at 187.5 for his Sean Strickland fight on tomorrow night’s ESPN+ ”Prelims” card.

Fighters who miss weight are typically fined 20-percent of their purse — payable to their opponents — by the state athletic commission; however, that number has been jacked up for Williams, who will forfeit 40-percent of tomorrow’s earnings.

Lastly, heavyweight bruiser Greg Hardy added to his already dubious resume by missing the 265-pound mark. NSAC has given “The Prince of War” — who weighed 266.5 inside the box of shame — an hour to cut the extra weight.
