Does Joaquin Buckley have another viral KO in him at UFC 255? ‘Definitely looking to do it again’

Owner of one of the greatest knockouts in UFC history, Joaquin Buckley wants to recreate that same magic on Nov. 21.

Buckley (11-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC), who delivered a viral mid-air spinning back kick finish of Impa Kasanganay last month at UFC on ESPN+ 37, will make a quick turnaround to face Jordan Wright at UFC 255.

After his attention-grabbing finish last time out, Buckley is keen to ride that momentum and claim another bonus-winning finish against “Dana White Contender Series” graduate Wright (11-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC).

“Strike while the iron is hot,” Buckley told MMA Junkie. “With this devastating knockout that I just had over Impa, I’m definitely looking to do it again with this fight coming up against another undefeated fighter in Jordan Wright, and I definitely think I have the capabilities of doing another outstanding knockout, for sure.”

He continued, “I want to get a first-round finish against Jordan Wright, but we’re not gonna force it. We’re just gonna let things flow the way they should, but I’m always looking for the finish, no matter what.”

For his first two UFC fights, Buckley says he didn’t have proper training camps. But, after spending time at Murcielago MMA for his upcoming fight against Wright, he expects to be in his best form.

“I was by myself for the majority of it, but I ended up running into my guys Justin and Mike and they were able to fill in for me, to be in my corner, which is so nice,” Buckley said of his past fight. “Actually, I’m training with these guys, Joaquin Murcielago out in Michigan, Lansing, for this fight camp for Jordan Wright, so we should be nice and ready for this fight because, for the last two fights that I had, I had no sparring.

“So my fight camps were just a little weird, hitting the heavy bag, doing little stuff like that, shadowboxing, but now I’m gonna have guys to work with, teammates to work with and sparring partnersso this fight should come out pretty good for me.
