After fighting to a majority draw with Donald Cerrone at UFC Vegas 11 last September, it was revealed that Niko Price has tested positive for traces of marijuana. As a result, the Nevada Stat Athletic Commission (NSAC) recently suspended Price and fined him for his transgression.

Furthermore, the draw has been ruled a no contest (NC)

“The Nevada commission has suspended UFC’s Niko Price six months and fined him $8,500 for a positive marijuana test,” reported ESPN’s Marc Raimondi. “His draw against Donald Cerrone in September will now be a no contest.”

This is the second time Price has failed a drug test for marijuana. In February of 2017, Price was also found to have traces of marijuana in his system and his win over Alex Morono was also overturned to a No contest (NC). He was also fined a sum of $1,000 and suspended for three months.

His current suspension is retroactive to September, which means he will be able to return to action inside the Octagon as early as March 2021.
