McGregor Betting Favorite For Poirier Trilogy

Dustin Poirier was upset with bookies for labeling him as the betting underdog for his Conor McGregor rematch, which took place last Sat. night (Jan. 23, 2021) inside Etihad Arena on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Just wait until he hears this.

Despite stopping “Notorious” in the second round of the UFC 257 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, “The Diamond” remains a betting underdog for a potential rubber match, which both fighters agreed to in their respective post-fight interviews.

The number crunchers over at BetOnline.ag opened McGregor at -140 to +120 for Poirier, but their trilogy has to take place in 2021 for those lines to pay out. The more likely scenario is that Poirier moves on to face top contender Charles Oliveira.

Here are some more UFC betting match ups:

Conor McGregor Next 2021 UFC Opponent

Nate Diaz: 2/1
Dustin Poirier: 3/1
Justin Gaethje: 4/1
Tony Ferguson: 6/1
Jorge Masvidal: 8/1
Michael Chandler: 10/1
Charles Oliviera: 12/1

Poirier’s Next 2021 UFC Opponent

Michael Chandler: 3/2
Charles Oliveira: 5/2
Conor McGregor: 9/2
Khabib Nurmegamedov: 6/1
Nate Diaz: 8/1
Justin Gaethje: 14/1
Tony Ferguson: 14/1

UFC Lightweight Champion by End of 2021

Dustin Poirier: 2/1
Michael Chandler: 3/1
Charles Oliviera: 4/1
Khabib Nurmegamedov: 9/2
Conor McGregor: 8/1
Justin Gaethje: 14/1
Tony Ferguson: 25/1
Nate Diaz: 50/1

The division has been on hold ever since current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov retired at UFC 254 last October, mostly because promotion president Dana White has refused to vacate his title (in hopes of this).

Expect a decision on that in the coming days.
