Much like the Skywalker Saga, the Gina Carano saga continues to add terrible chapters to a story I wish had ended years ago when she started to find her foothold in Hollywood after leaving MMA as the sport’s sweetheart.

Now here we are in 2021 with Carano fired from Disney’s hit show The Mandalorian for comparing the plight of Republicans to the Jewish holocaust on social media. Her spin-off show Rangers of the New Republic? Being retooled to go ahead without her. And now Carano is positioning herself as a new voice of the American right by signing a new movie deal with conservative pundit Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire.

Previous releases from that studio include ‘Run Hide Fight,’ which is described as a mash up of ‘a school shooting incident and Die Hard,’ so we really can’t wait to see what projects they get Carano onto.

For now, Carano is going on the Daily Wire to detail exactly what happened between her and Disney … for the full interview, you’ll have to pay. The actress had been on thin ice with her bosses for a while after posting a bunch of anti-mask, anti-lockdown positions and posts questioning the validity of the US election. A previous round of #FireGinaCarano on social media back in November almost ended her time with the company before Mandalorian head Jon Favreau reportedly went to bat for Carano and told execs she’d stop making waves on social media.

“I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before. I’m not the only one that’s ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply.”

“I was prepared at any point to be let go because I’ve seen this happen to so many people,” Carano continued. “I’ve seen the looks on their faces. I’ve seen the bullying that takes place and so when this started… you know it’s only a matter of time. I’ve seen it happen to so many people and I just thought to myself ‘you’re coming for me, I know you are.’”

“I could share a story and would turn things around in the media, but I can’t do that because it would be selling out a friend that I don’t really have the same views as but I’m not gonna sell out someone to take the attention off me… everyone is afraid of losing their jobs.”

As for the post that broke the camel’s back? The one that many read as claiming Democrats were inciting a pogrom on Republicans like the Nazis did to the Jews?

“When I posted that it wasn’t something that I felt was controversial,” Carano said. “It was something that I thought, well, maybe all of us need to ask ourselves how that happened. I’ve got every single big publication saying she’s comparing conservatives and Republicans to this and that’s not really what I was doing… I have love for everyone; I’m not a hateful person.”

“I do want people to know that this has not been easy,” she said later. “I’m a human being, I have so much to learn and grow, and I am. I am deeply understanding, it’s like the curtains got pulled and I’m seeing so much. Being cancelled might become trendy one day, but don’t think that when it happens to you, it’s gonna be easy because it’s not. It’s maybe going to be one of the hardest things that you’ve ever been through. But each day that goes by, you find your legs again, and you stop feeling sorry for yourself and you show up.”

“My body is still shaking,” she added. “It’s devastating, but the thought of this happening to anybody else, especially to somebody who could not handle this the way I can, no, they don’t get to do that. They don’t get to make people feel like that.”
