Agy Sardari vs. Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar lightweight title fight headlines Cage Warriors 121

Cage Warriors’ second of three shows in three days next month will have a title fight at the top of the bill.

Lightweight champion Agy Sardari (13-2) will put his title on the line for the first time when he takes on Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar (5-0-1) in the Cage Warriors 121 headliner, the promotion announced Friday.

Cage Warriors 121 takes place Friday, March 19, at York Hall in London. The day before, Cage Warriors 120 will happen at the same venue. And on March 20, Cage Warriors 122 will complete what the promotion has dubbed as “The Trilogy.” All three events will stream on UFC Fight Pass.

“Agy is a top fighter with a ton of experience and has been on an absolute tear,” Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan stated. “I was so impressed with the way he performed against Jack Grant to win the belt. Mehdi is still young in the sport, but you can bet he will give the champ everything he can handle. I’m certain this fight is going to bring fireworks to York Hall, and I can’t wait to see how this plays out.”

Sardari brought a six-fight winning streak, including five stoppages, into his promotional debut at Cage Warriors 119 this past December. In a back-and-forth fight against Jack Grant, he won the vacant lightweight title with a split decision as nearly a 2-1 underdog.

Lakhdhar, a teammate of UFC standouts Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane at the MMA Factory in France, has yet to lose in his pro career. He’s 3-0-1 under the Cage Warriors banner with all three of his wins by first-round knockout. In 2019, he went to a majority draw with Joe McColgan for the only blemish on his record. But he bounced back 15 months later with a first-round KO of Stevie McIntosh at Cage Warriors 117 this past December. That win was good enough to get him a title shot.
