Decorated jiu-jitsu champion Gordon Ryan signs with ONE Championship
It looks like Gordon Ryan’s MMA debut is soon to come.
The decorated grappler has signed a contract with ONE Championship and is set to compete in both submission grappling and MMA. ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced the news of the signing Monday on Twitter.
Details of Ryan’s debut were not announced.

Ryan is regarded by many as the best pound-for-pound grappler in the world. He is a three-time ADCC champion, IBJJF no-gi champion and a four-time Eddie Bravo Invitational champion. He’s defeated many notable MMA names in grappling competitions, including Josh Barnett, Gabriel Gonzaga, Rousimar Palhares and Vagner Rocha.
Ryan has show interest in competing in MMA in the past and finally will take the plunge with ONE Championship. Ryan joins friend and teammate Garry Tonon, who crossed over from the grappling world to MMA in 2018 with ONE Championship.
