Magomed Magomedov ready for a top-five opponent after Khabib-influenced Bellator 255 win

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Khabib Nurmagomedov’s influence was felt at Bellator 255 beyond just the cousin who shares his last name.

Magomed Magomedov (18-1 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) closed out the preliminary card at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., with a second-round submission of Cee Jay Hamilton (15-8 MMA, 0-1 BMMA). It gave Magomedov five straight wins. The only loss in his pro career came to former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan.

Magomedov said he’s ready for top-five opponent after the win to test the deeper waters on the climb toward title contention – and credited Khabib Nurmagomedov for the differences he made in his training camp.
