John Douma hopes Bellator 256 win keeps him around, even if he’s unimpressed by his performance

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – John Douma burst onto the Bellator scene a couple years back with an upset of a highly touted prospect in Mike Kimbel.

But after a loss to Jornel Lugo in his second Bellator fight, Douma fell right back into the pack. This past Friday, Douma (5-2 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) opened the Bellator 256 prelims with a split call over Will Smith (3-3 MMA, 0-2 BMMA) at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card aired on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.

Following the fight, Douma talked to the media about his win, how he hopes it was enough to stay with Bellator, what comes next and more.
