OH MY GOD!

You heard them, now you get to see them.

Outside of referee Herb Dean, and of course opponent Uriah Hall, perhaps no one had a closer look at Chris Weidman’s grisly leg break than Joe Rogan, along with fellow UFC 261 commentators Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier.

Safe to say many UFC fans (and fighters) had a similar response.

Weidman, 36, uncorked a powerful kick to open their middleweight affair; however, Hall kept his leg planted and the “All American” could do nothing but watch his limb snap in half, similar to the way Anderson Silva shattered his shin at UFC 168.

“I know for a fact he will come back,” Weidman’s brother-in-law and UFC welterweight Stephen Thompson told TMZ (transcribed by Adam Martin). “He can never throw a kick again and still dominate in the UFC, in his division. He’s not known for his kicking, he’s known for his striking, his wrestling. So that’s the thing that makes this not very worrisome. So yeah, it’s terrible that it happened and I pray that it heals up fast and I know it will, but he doesn’t have to ever throw a kick again and he can still win fights.”

Weidman was hospitalized in “The Sunshine State” and underwent surgery the following morning. While the “All American” is expected to make a full recovery, his fighting future remains in doubt, especially considering his struggle to win fights in recent years.
