UFC Vegas 28 injuries and medical suspensions were submitted to MixedMartialArts.com earlier this week for those athletes competing at the “Rozenstruik vs. Sakai” event last weekend (Sat., June 5, 2021) inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Not surprisingly, a fair share of combatants were handed mandatory timeouts, including heavyweight banger Ilir Latifi. “The Sledgehammer” could be out for the remainder of the year following a broken arm in his split-decision win over Tanner Boser.

The full list of UFC Vegas 28 medical suspensions (courtesy of MMA Fighting) includes:

Augusto Sakai: Suspended until July 21, no contact until July 6 — left eye lacerations
Walt Harris: Suspended until July 21, no contact until July 6

Miguel Baeza: Suspended until July 6, no contact until June 27

Ariane Lipski: Suspended until July 21, no contact until July 6 — lacerations around both eyes
Ilir Latifi: Must receive clearance from ophthalmologist for left eye hyphema, and orthopedic doctor with positive result from MRI on left elbow or no contest until Dec. 3; minimum suspension no contest until July 6, no contact until June 27
Tanner Boser: Suspended until June 27, no contact until June 20
Muslim Salikhov: Suspended until July 21, no contact until July 6

Sean Woodson: Must have X-ray of left hand and MRI of left knee or no contest until Dec. 3; minimum suspension no contest until July 6, no contact until June 27

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
