Brown Eyes ‘Cowboy’ Rematch After UFC Vegas 29

Longtime UFC welterweight bruiser Matt Brown was expected to retire in the wake of his Diego Sanchez victory back in late 2017, but “The Immortal” was reenergized by his “Nightmare” performance and decided to stick around for another couple of fights.

So with the 40 year-old Brown making his way back to the Octagon to battle Dhiego Lima at UFC Vegas 29 on June 19, the TUF 5 veteran is once against faced with questions about his fighting future, though it sounds like “The Immortal” still has some unfinished business.

“Every fight I say this will be my last one,” Brown told Just Scrap Radio. “A lot of people don’t know that I’ve been saying that for 10 years. I don’t know man, we will see what happens. I’ve fought all the big names pretty much. I wouldn’t mind running it back with (Robbie) Lawler and Cowboy (Cerrone). That would be my ideal situation. I felt like I won the Lawler fight but the judges didn’t agree. Cowboy, of course, that was the only time I’ve actually ever been knocked out. He actually knocked me the hell out so I’d love to get that one back.”

Brown was starched by a “Cowboy” head kick at UFC 206.

Fortunately for “The Immortal” welterweight, both Lawler and Cerrone are at the tail end of their respective careers, so the promotion is more likely to make one (or both) of those fan-friendly showdowns comes to fruition.

Though it may depend on whether or not Brown gets past Lima this weekend in “Sin City.”
