Khalil Rountree vs. Modestas Bukauskas added to UFC Fight Night on Sept. 4

Skidding light heavyweights will look to rebound when they square off in September.

Khalil Rountree (8-5-1 MMA, 4-5-1 UFC) takes on Modestas Bukauskas (11-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) at the UFC’s Fight Night event Sept. 4. The card doesn’t currently have a publicly known location or venue.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking with MMA Junkie on Wednesday, but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Sherdog was first to report the news.

Rountree, 31, has lost three of his past four. The Season 23 “Ultimate Fighter” finalist returned after a 16-month layoff against Marcin Prachnio at UFC 257 in January, but lost the bout by unanimous decision.

Former Cage Warriors light heavyweight champion Bukauskas also has dropped two straight. After stopping Andreas Michailidis in his UFC debut at UFC on ESPN 13 in July 2020, Bukauskas was knocked out by Jimmy Crute in October. In March, he lost a narrow split decision to Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 260.
