Kyler Phillips ready ‘to go all the way to the top’ after UFC on ESPN 27

Kyler Phillips is brimming with confidence as he looks to make it a 4-0 start to his octagon tenure Saturday at UFC on ESPN 27.

Phillips (9-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has been successful in his first three promotional appearances. He gets another solid test in Raulian Paiva (20-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) in their bantamweight matchup, which airs on the ESPN-televised main card from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

It’s not easy for a lot of fighters to put together winning streaks on the sport’s biggest stage. Phillips has had a nearly flawless start, and he expects that to continue on Saturday against someone who is “not on my level” in Paiva.

“It’s a journey, it’s a ride,” Phillips told MMA Junkie and other reporters on Wednesday at UFC on ESPN 27 media day. “Sometimes you’re going to have fun. Sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s less serious. I’m enjoying it and I’m going to go all the way to the top and I’m super excited. I’m focused and I’m going to do whatever it takes to get myself to that next level every single day. I have seen huge leaps in growth in my abilities as a fighter, also as a human being and I’m really enjoying the process.”
