Yana Kunitskaya says she did not fight at UFC 264 while pregnant: ‘Mind your own business’

One day after announcing her pregnancy and impending layoff from competition, UFC women’s bantamweight contender Yana Kunitskaya has taken to social media again.

This time, the 31-year-old Kunitskaya offered a clear message to anyone who might be suggesting she was already pregnant when she entered the cage at UFC 264 on July 10 (via Instagram):

Just to make clear !!! I didn’t fought pregnant!!! in the left sight I am with my first son 2 months pregnant, there is right side 2nd month pregnant. It’s just how my body react . All you who keep txting me , mind your own business 👍

Female fighters are given pregnancy tests as a standard part of pre-fight medicals in Nevada, where UFC 264 was held. Still, some observers suggested Kunitskaya’s recent picture announcing her pregnancy appeared to show that she was further along in the process than five weeks.

However “Foxy” showed a picture from her previous pregnancy as proof of how her body carries the additional weight before telling people to leave her alone.

Kunitskaya (14-6 MMA, 4-3 UFC) is engaged to UFC light heavyweight contender Thiago “Marreta” Santos. She currently sits at No. 7 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie women’s bantamweight rankings but will now be sidelined until 2022.
