Video: Standards for earning a UFC contract on Contender Series have dropped. Is that good or bad?

Through two weeks of Dana White’s Contender Series, it’s clear that there’s been a shift in approach to handing out UFC contracts.

Up until this season, fighters not only had to win – they had to win impressively to secure a deal. If you didn’t make a strong impression on Dana White, you weren’t getting signed unless you happened to catch the UFC boss on a good day.

That’s all changed, though.

After nine fights this season, 10 contracts have been handed out, including to one loser (Carlos Candelario) and two split decision winners (Chad Anheliger and Saimon Oliveira).
