UFC President Dana White definitely saw McGregor’s attempts at throwing a baseball.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White definitely caught Conor McGregor’s rough first pitch at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

McGregor, a former two-division UFC champion, threw the first pitch at the Chicago Cubs vs. Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball (MLB) game. “The Notorious” one whiffed hard, over-extending on the throw and nearly striking a bystander.

“Let me start here: Do you know how many times I’ve been asked to throw a first-pitch somewhere? And I’ll never do it. Never,” White told the Jim Rome Show on Wednesday. “Just like all those guys who think they can fight, guys think they can throw a baseball to home plate. It’s a lot harder than it looks.

Asked about a potential return to the Octagon for McGregor, who has been sidelined since breaking his leg (watch here) in a fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July, White said it’s all about the recovery timeline.

“This kid needs to heal up,” White said. “I don’t know how fast that leg is going to recovery. It’s basically going to be all about when can he start kicking again and, more importantly, when can he start taking kicks again. That will determine when he fights again.”

Poirier vs. McGregor 3 took place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sat., July 10. Poirier was awarded a first-round technical knockout (TKO) after the leg break.
