Jairzinho Rozenstruik happy Curtis Blaydes has ‘underestimated’ him entering UFC 266

LAS VEGAS – Jairzinho Rozenstruik thinks UFC 266 opponent Curtis Blaydes is underestimating him ahead of their heavyweight showdown Saturday.

Days out from the event, Rozenstruik (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) projected that thought during a pre-fight news conference at the UFC Apex when asked about recent comments by Blaydes that stated “Bigi Boy” was just a worse version of Derrick Lewis.

“I’m happy he’s underestimated me,” Rozenstruik said. “This Saturday, it’s going to be different. It’s going to be me and him. I don’t even count the referee because when it’s over, it’s over. … I think he’s in the top five. I think he’s a badass, same as me.”

Rozenstruik, 33, looks to build off momentum gained in his most recent fight when he finished Brazilian heavyweight Augusto Sakai with punches in Round 1. Meanwhile, Blaydes looks to rebound from the first knockout loss of his career, suffered against Derrick Lewis in February.

UFC 266 takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. The main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view after prelims on ESPN News.
