Marlon Moraes plans to halt Merab Dvalishvili’s rise with rebound win at UFC 266

LAS VEGAS – Marlon Moraes is ready to put his career back on the winning track at UFC 266

Moraes (23-8-1 MMA, 5-4 UFC), a former WSOF champion and UFC title challenger, has lost three of his past four fights. He’ll attempt to course correct on Saturday when he meets Merab Dvalishvili (13-4 MMA, 6-2 UFC) on Saturday’s pay-per-view main card following prelims on ESPNNews and ESPN+.

According to Moraes, a non-stop schedule compounded by injuries after relocating to the United States contributed to the ppor results in recent outings. Everything is where it needs to be now, though, he said, and he’s planning a great performance.

Moraes knows Dvalishvili is no easy out, as he’s won his past five fights. Moraes said he needs to “keep my eyes wide open” once he steps in the octagon, and he thinks he’ll be able to secure the win.

“I want to fight with the best,” Moraes told reporters, including MMA Junkie, at Wednesday’s UFC 266 media day. “I’m in the UFC, and there’s no easy fights here. I never said no. My opponent Merab, he’s been building his record. He’s been doing so good in the UFC. He deserve that. I’m on the top, he wants to get on the top, but I won’t let that happen.”
