UFC adds Jake Matthews vs. Jeremiah Wells to Dec. 4 lineup

A welterweight matchup is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night on Dec. 4.

Jake Matthews (17-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) will take on Jeremiah Wells (9-2-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at an event that takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, promotion officials announced Monday night.

Australia’s Matthews will look to get back to the win column after getting submitted by Sean Brady at UFC 259 in March. Prior to that, the 27-year-old had won six of his past seven, including wins over Diego Sanchez and Li Jingliang.

Wells, a Renzo Gracie Philly fighter, will look to replicate his teammate Brady’s success. The former CFFC welterweight champion made good on his promotional debut in June when he dispatched of Warlley Alves in the second round at UFC Fight Night 190.

The latest lineup for UFC Fight Night on Dec. 4 includes:

  • Rob Font vs. Jose Aldo
  • Chris Gruetzemacher vs. Claudio Puelles
  • Rafael Fiziev vs. Brad Riddell
  • Montserrat Conejo vs. Mallory Martin
  • Brendan Allen vs. Brad Tavares
