UFC strawweight attraction Mackenzie Dern suffered a thumb injury during her unanimous decision loss to Marina Rodriguez in the UFC Vegas 39 main event last weekend in Las Vegas and could be looking at a lengthy medical suspension as a result.

Just like Alexandr Romanov and Charlie Ontiveros.

The former mucked up his middle finger by smashing Jared Vanderaa on the UFC Vegas 39 “Prelims” card while the latter may have suffered multiple fractures in his second-round technical knockout loss to Steve Garcia in the opening fight of the night.

Here are the rest of the UFC Vegas 39 medial suspensions from MixedMartialArts.com, helpfully compiled by MMA Fighting:

Charlie Ontiveros: needs orthopedic doctor clearance for fragments along distal medial humerus in right forearm & must have oral and maxillofacial surgeon, ear, nose and throat or ophthalmologist doctor clearance for fracture of region of junction of left zygoma and squamous portion of left temporal bone or or suspended until April 8; suspended at a minimum until Nov. 24 with no contact until Nov. 9.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
