Chuck Liddell and his estranged wife, Heidi Northcott, will not face charges following Liddell’s domestic violence arrest.

Legendary Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Chuck Liddell will not face charges for his recent arrest following an alleged domestic incident with his wife, Heidi Northcott.

Liddell and Northcott will not face charges in the “cross-complaint” case due to a lack of sufficient evidence, according to court documents obtained by MMA Junkie after an initial report by TMZ Sports. The couple’s daughter told prosecutors she witnessed her parents pushing each other. Liddell allegedly had a red mark on his face and chest; meanwhile, Northcott had no visible injuries.

Liddell was arrested in Agoura Hills, Calif. on Mon., Oct. 11 on charges of domestic violence. In a follow-up statement, “The Iceman” claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse and voluntarily went to jail to shield a family mental health issue. The former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, 51, subsequently filed for divorce from his wife earlier this week. The estranged couple got engaged in Nov. 2010.

Liddell (21-8) confirmed his second retirement from mixed martial arts (MMA) in March 2020. He suffered a first-round knockout (KO) loss to Tito Ortiz in Nov. 2018 following a nearly eight-year layoff. In his prime, the former world champion defeated Ortiz (twice), Randy Couture (twice), Wanderlei Silva, Alistair Overeem and Vitor Belfort, among others.
