Kyung Ho Kang feeling ‘a lot more fire’ in second booking vs. Rani Yahya

LAS VEGAS – Kyung Ho Kang feels a lot better entering the second booking against Rani Yahya than the first time back in the summer.

The South Korean fighter fights Yahya (27-10-1 MMA, 12-4-1 UFC) this Saturday on the main card of UFC Fight Night 198. It’s the second time the two have been scheduled to meet, as they were originally supposed to fight in July at UFC on ESPN 28. However, hours before the card, Yahya tested positive for COVID-19 and was forced to pull out of the bout.

“When the fight got canceled in the morning I thought it was a joke,” Kang told MMA Junkie at the UFC Fight Night 198 media day. “I didn’t believe it but of course it was reality and I had to face it.

Kang (17-8 MMA, 6-2 UFC) was sad to have his bout canceled, but he’s glad he got more time to heal up from some injuries and work on extra techniques.

“There was a lot of disappointment with how the fight got canceled last time,” Kang said. “There was a lot more feelings with this fight coming up and a lot more fire.

“There we some injuries and some things that limited me in my last training camp, but because now I have recovered, there was a lot of stuff I got to work on this time.”
