Charles Jourdain calls out Cub Swanson after UFC Fight Night 199 win: ‘I want to f*ck him up’

LAS VEGAS – Charles Jourdain is still eyeing one of the biggest names in the featherweight division.

Jourdain (12-4-1 MMA, 3-3-1 UFC), who defeated Andre Ewell this past Saturday at UFC Fight Night 199, has doubled down on his callout of Cub Swanson, who took out fellow veteran Darren Elkins in the first round on the same night.

Jourdain asked for Swanson after he stopped Marcelo Rojo in March, and now that he’s fought out his UFC contract in an impressive win over Ewell, he has redirected his attention to Swanson (28-12 MMA, 18-11 UFC).

“I was not a big fan of calling out, but I want to fight Cub,” Jourdain told reporters, including MMA Junkie, at a post-fight news conference. “I had a little bit of an interaction with him. He was looking me down – because we had a couple of interactions back and forth, and I was always doing that Canadian stuff of, ‘Oh, I apologize, haha’ and being too nice to the guy.

“But now, f*ck it. I want to f*ck him up. I want to put my hands on him. I just had a crazy fight, and I would love to fight him right now if Darren Elkins would have pulled out. I would go in and fight that guy. I don’t mean any disrespect to the man, he’s fighting tonight, but win or lose, I want to get my hands on him, so that’s the goal with my new contract.”

In his post-fight press conference, 38-year-old Swanson expressed interest in a potential drop to bantamweight and a desired fight against UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber.
