Andrei Arlovski vs. Jared Vanderaa late addition to UFC 271 in Houston

Andrei Arlovski continues his climb toward the record for most fights in UFC history.

A former UFC heavyweight champion, Arlovski (32-20 MMA, 21-14 UFC) has scheduled what will be his 37th promotional bout, a fight vs. Jared Vanderaa (12-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC) at UFC 271. The event takes place Feb. 12 at Toyota Center in Houston. The main card streams on pay-per-view after prelims on ESPN/ESPN+.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup Friday confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Iridium Sports Agency, which represents Vanderaa, first announced the fight.

Arlovski, 42, is one of the oldest fighters on the roster but continues to win. In his most recent five fights, Arlovski has gone 4-1 with victories over Philipe Lins, Tanner Boser, Chase Sherman and Carlos Felipe.

Vanderaa, 29, has had mixed results in his UFC career to date. After a TKO loss to Serghei Spivac, Vanderaa picked up his first promotional victory in a Fight of the Night bonus-earning unanimous decision over Justin Tafa. Most recently, Vanderaa lost once again by TKO to Alexandr Romanov in October.
