LAS VEGAS – Henry Cejudo is still interested in fighting Alexander Volkanovski and he made sure to let him know.

The former two-division UFC champion approached Volkanovski following his successful title defense against Max Holloway at Saturday’s UFC 276 at the T-Mobile in Las Vegas. Cejudo, who’s looking to return to the octagon, made his case for getting a title shot at featherweight to Volkanovski.

“This is all competition, man,” Cejudo said in a video caught by UFC. “If an Olympic medal and two UFC belts ain’t enough, I just want to compete, Alexander. As a competitor, I respect the sh*t out of you. Congratulations No. 1. I just want to know how far I can take it. I’m here. I’m here.”

Cejudo retired abruptly in May 2020 after he defended his bantamweight belt against Dominick Cruz. He took two years off and recently re-entered the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) drug testing pool in April in hopes to make a return to the octagon.

Cejudo hopes to get a shot at the 145-pound belt in hopes to become the first ever three-division UFC champion. The 35-year-old previously held the bantamweight and flyweight titles.
